Hope Church Holiday Bible Club (2025)
What a joy it was to be on the team for our very first Easter Holiday Bible Club!
The club took place on two mornings during the Easter holidays, with 32 children signed up.
The theme of the two sessions was ‘Secret Agents,’ with the aim of showing the children how to uncover the true meaning of the Easter Story. Bible passages from Luke Chapter 5 [the healing of the paralysed man] and Luke Chapters 23 and 24 [the death and resurrection of Jesus], were used to show the children that if we recognise our sin, we can receive forgiveness by coming to Jesus, who died on the cross for our salvation.
The sessions were from 9.30 until 11.30 providing a mix of Bible teaching, games, songs, and craft.
After each morning’s talk the children, in small groups, were encouraged to discuss with their leaders, some important questions about what they had learned. This was a valuable opportunity for the children to reflect, and to ask their own questions. Some children were keen to pray about these things, too.
Interspersed with the teaching sessions was a mixture of singing, team games, craft activities [on the bible theme], and the learning of a memory verse, with actions:
Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart, that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
After the final session, the children went home with a gift bag containing their crafts, discussion booklets, a gospel tract and, of course, some Haribo’s.
Feedback from the children and parents has been very positive and we very much look forward to our next Holiday Bible Club in 2026.
